Since I decided to update Zapdos Merch on LB (and a few other things, that I forgot to add when I made that update back in May), that site and my other sites just had to go down again.. This happend on the 4th or earlier and I got LB back online yesterday but the other two are still offline, though the account for MI isn't suspended but it has a 502 Bad Gateway error or it would be up by now. With LB, I found out that I was wrong about Sitting Cuties being the reason for the previous downfall, apparently it's cutiest since I method on the item's summary that it's the cutiest one out of all the Zapdos plushies. Which is very close to cuties, at least it seems like it is since Byehost never had a problem with Moltres Merch which also has a Sitting Cuties plush so it's in there and is typed in as one word everytime I mention it so it makes sense. Even so, so a third downfall doesn't happen, I'm gonna make another account on Byehost in order to test it out but it's going to be connected to my other e-mail so it also makes sense about why the heck all three would go offline because of one site having a problem, because all three do share the same e-mail. I'm gonna test out that guess of mine too to make sure I'm right. But back to LB, since the fact that I mentioned that they could remove the problem themselves if I couldn't.. they really listened to it.. since the reply ended up being that they decided to remove the whole page (yes, Zapdos Merch) because of one word. It's really great that I kept making copies of LB's pages in order to not lose anything or this problem would be really bad, so I just used the copy of that page and added it without that plush since back then I didn't realize that cutiest was the culprit but even so, it's just a guess that it was the reason. It's a good one though. I just don't want to have to go through the same problem again in case I am wrong. But to think that Byehost would just be like "Oh no, it has a bad word! That page must be deleted!" and then actually do it. Even though what I said before was what probably made that happen, I thought that they could at least remove the 'bad word' or just tell me remove it and then they could take away that account suspension in order to let me do that and if I didn't do it in a matter of a few days at least then it'll be suspended once again. Byehost has stupid rules that must be followed in order to use them as a host.. Reminds me of other stupid rules that aren't that bad but people make them out to be so terrible. People like that are funny that sometimes one just has to laugh at their stupidity. Like I did with the previous entry, I'll update this entry when the other sites are back and what happened with them. Edit 6/11: Both of them aren't back but.. Melon's island is! With Byehost I got three replies back from when I told them about that 502 Bad Gateway error. They said that they need to get to second line support and will get back to me soon. Then how the solution to the problem will be resolved soon and the last one is about how maintenance was in progress for free hosting (which is what I use for all three of my sites) and how I can check again in 48 hours or less to see if MI is online. For SHH they said the same thing at first as they did with MI about getting second line support but on the other reply they told me there's apparently an error that the abuse filter detectors found with this one page; Ham-Ham Heartbreak O.o Why did that page become a problem with them? I thought it went down because of it's attachment with LB like with MI.. The last time I updated that page was in 2/4/19 and that's the first time that I made an update on there after the move from Webs.. I might've fixed an error that was on that page later on and maybe that's why it's a problem but I think that was before 2021. Strange.. I'll update this entry again when the problem with SHH is resolved -.- Edit 6/17: Since Ham-Ham Heartbreak has been removed since it has at least one banned word, SHH is back. Though it took more time than I thought since I thought that removing cutiest from Zapdos Merch on LB wouldn't ban the site because of that page the third time but it did.. So I did not use a good solution to add cuties by using this instead; SittingCuties or it has to do with at least one of the image's titles which has a few possibilities of being banned. So MI went down again because of LB. And in order to revive LB again, Zapdos Merch was removed by them.. again.. It seems like they just cannot remove the banned word/s. After I got LB up, I restored that page again but I have to hold off on adding Zapdos Sitting Cuties again.. I really don't know why they don't have a problem with Moltres Merch now o-o but I'm guessing that if I edit that page again then yet another suspension to that account will happen the fourth time, well if I leave that plush on there after editing it. I got MI back easily so yay :D Then with SHH, Byehost had a problem with Ham-Ham Heartbreak again and I decided to let them remove the page since they could not tell me what word/s on there they consider as being banned because of security reasons.. T_T They could've just removed the banned word/s, which would let me gain access to that account again but nooo, the whole page has to come falling down. Since I have no idea what word/s it could be that's cauing the stupid abuse filter detectors I can't simply put it back up.. so since I already created the test account on Byehost to see what I can have on my sites and what I can't from guessing and knowing that cuties is a banned word, I'm testing out what the page and what the page didn't have during it's time on Webs. I've found out from that version that the fact that I referred to Spat and Harmony as being cuties was there from when I moved SHH and why that first ban happened. Like with SHH, I'm also testing out a safe way to add those Sitting Cuties plushies. I started testing on the 13th and as of now I'm testing out 4 different things. No suspension to that account yet. I updated LB (Legendary Birds) on the 28th (which I forgot to announce on here..) and then more than a few hours later the next day.. LB including MI (Melon's Island) and SHH (Spat & Harmony Heartbreak) all go down, aka go offline. Since all of the accounts that are needed in order to create and update ended up getting suspended somehow. I can see why LB would but I didn't even edit the others for months and yet they go down with LB D: I asked for help by submitting a ticket which is something that needs to be done when I need help on Byehost by using LB's account since I recently updated it. I don't know what I did or how this happened but as I mentioned before I made backups for LB and MI and even though it took a long time, I did SHH and have been updating the back ups every time I update any of those sites so the pages aren't outdated and prevent losing what I updated (in case what happened with LB last year happens again or to the others for the first time..). I've been making backups for all of the images on them too (ever since the Majhost accident), which have been moved to a flash drive and when one doesn't have enough room, I add them to the next one or they stay on my laptop. Until I find out for myself on what happened and when at least one site is back online I'll update this entry. Edit 6/1: My reply from them that came through an e-mail (the e-mails from them keep going to Spam D:) told me that their anti fraud systems detected something that it looks as something abusive. Which is sensitive since I know that when I used cuties to refer to Spat and Harmony on SHH I at least might've got that account suspended but I was able to remove it and had to make sure not to do that again -.- Though on LB's recent update, I added two plushies of Moltres and Zapdos that are called Sitting Cuties D: To prevent that from happening to LB, I made the two last words into one word. So this anti fraud system is sensitive. Anyway it detected htdocs/zap.merch.php (which isn't allowed) and I asked them to gain access to my account in order to fix the error or if that couldn't be done, fix it themselves. This is the reply; It appears your website was incorrectly detected as abuse by our anti fraud systems. We have reactivated your account, apologies for the inconvenience. It's stupid systems ended up screwing up.. So LB is back! :D I also found out that the htdocs part is where all my files for LB are placed but I did not type that in when I was updating. It's probably there to show me where the page is. And apparently the anti fraud systems screwed up again, making it look like I added something that wasn't appropriate and so they apologized to me again through e-mail.. Gah, is that stupid thing really necessary?! So at least two of my sites went down for nothing -.- So SHH is back! :D I asked for help on SHH as a test run to see if it'll have the same fate as LB, which it didn't at first. I already sent help for MI, so I'll see if this downtime is a mistake made by the systems as well. Edit 6/1 (Many Hours Later): I was right, the anti fraud systems made a mistake on MI as well -.- Now Melon's Island is back! :D I sure hope this doesn't happen again. It's bad enough for one to be down.. I think this has to do with all the site accounts linking to the same e-mail, since they are like that. Other than all three of the being hosted by the same host. There was nothing about the e-mail being looked at as a 'bad' thing to Byehost though. Ah, this problem is over so I'll announce that I did some small updating many hours ago, after the first edit of this blog entry this is what I updated; in the Hello and Welcome to.. section I added a Update Site Status when the last update was made and which site has a recent update. And also when an update is coming soon I don't have to make a short blog about it and just edit the list of which site is going to have that coming soon update or when it's been recently updated. With the new appearance of better looking buttons for LB on it's latest update, I added one of them to the navigation. Also for the navigation I added two link back buttons that I'll be using for my sites in the future (at least two of them) and I added a small bit of information on how this layout looks on mobile which isn't recommended for the fact that the navi ends up over lapping the content section of the site, making it hard to see what has been typed. It's been weeks but I have found a good host that is similar to Webs in some ways. My first option was Byehost but the way one logs in isn't normal and having three of my sites hosted on there already and having a fourth site that connects a site to a certain set of numbers (like how LB has 12 in it's address) would be more of a problem and then there's what happened to LB since Byehost only lets their costumers have php so to prevent another problem like that I've been making copies of every page that Byehost hosts and with Webs going down in March that just leaves me more copying (not to mention moving pages and many images as well) to do. So I'm very thankful that I found a good one for MB. I actually already moved many splashes and previous layouts to this host for MI and LB. And that host is.. *drum roll* Neocities! :D I think it might be the new Yahoo! Geocities since it used to be a site host but went down many years ago. And the whole Geo and Neo being similar. If so then it returned with a new name. It does have a 1 GB size limit for each free account but I haven't went over it yet and it's not like MB is going to be a big site one day. It's going to stay small but have some growth, especially since I want to update my stories that are on here. Icy's Nightmare is incomplete and only Icy's profile image is available, so I need images for three characters. A remake for Wolf Hamster is in progress and with it I'll need to make a profile and an image for Miles and update images for the rest of the characters that are there so far and make profiles and images for new characters. For Penny: The Winged Hamster I might redraw profile images for every character that has one and make profile images for those who don't. At least those who don't have an image. Anyway, when Webs is about to go down (on March 31st).. this is the new address. With Melon's Blog being small if didn't take long so everything is on there like it is on Webs. This entry is about the site already getting a new layout but it's very similar to the last one. I don't like how the navigation stays in the middle and I'm not liking it much anymore so I made a new version of it, one that is improved and I love it :D Because of Web's slowness with making changes to the pages and having to change every page to replace this layout's coding with the new one it's going to take some more time than when I usually change layouts. Usually when a new layout is coming I put my sites on hiatus for more than a day, it depends on how much stuff is going to be added to the next update. But this time, I'll leave MB open and the new layout coding will appear on more and more pages as the time goes on and when I'm done I'll update this entry. I'll even add some info about the new layout :)
Edit 11/14: I actually got the layout up on all of the pages in one day since I don't have many pages (despite the slowness of updated pages) since Webs doesn't support Server Side Includes I had to make a site that has a small amount of pages. I just forgot all about this until I got an e-mail from Webs.. o-o; But I ran into a border problem I can't seem to fix, I tried many ways to get it right. Apparently when I added the new layout, all of the character profiles have borders (and the border that's suppose to be around the characters section is gone) since they are styled in tables. For the fact that this layout uses many tables to create the content into multiple boxes, this problem happened. But I found one solution to the problem but it ends up making the rest of the borders below the characters section disappear.. It's not much of a problem but I might not get rid of it and just except it. Even though I rather not but I do want to keep the table style going. Anyways.. Wow, I'm surprised that the new layout actually looks good in Internet Explorer and not just good but as good as Chrome! :O It must be the new set up I did since my layouts usually have at least a few bad areas with Internet Explorer. With Firefox having minor changes, these are those changes; the navigation is higher than the content (probably because of the navigation having the fixed position) and this isn't bad but.. the scrollbar is colored red, which looks cool :3 though for some reason it's like this since in case a browser isn't able to shown the gradient background (which is how the background is red and orange) I have it set that it will show a red background instead and it makes the scroll bar red XD It's not easy to use since it can be hard to see in a few places, so you have to really look at it to use it. But this is only a Firefox thing from what I know of. And apparently, red isn't the only color that makes this happen since there's also.. blue, green, purple, indigo, black, and brown X3 I tried them and they work! And I tried these colors too but they don't work.. orange, yellow, white, sky blue, dark blue, magenta and carrot (an orange color). Hahaha, that was fun c:
So about that e-mail.. which gave me bad news for me and for other Web users who would rather keep things where they are now and not pay to run a site either. I won't copy and paste the whole thing but this is what makes this e-mail bad news; We have been maintaining website subscriptions under both Webs and Vistaprint for quite a while, but now it is time to bring all our customers to the Vistaprint brand. Yay, my first entry! :D But it's a bad one but that's why I made Melon's Blog in the first place to explain to the visitors of my sites about these problems and believe me, this is a BIG one, there's much to explain about it. It all started back in June.. sadly.. I was working on a future layout for LB and needed the bottom image of Version 11's image address and went to get it by going to Home and viewed it's source like I usually do with my sites and copied and pasted the address and then closed out of it's source and that's when it happened.. Home became a bunch of words that has nothing to do with the site and it looks like spam.. and there isn't just some of it, there's a lot of it.. I freaked out and got worried and looked through all of it's pages and I noticed that a few more are like Home.. though only the one is actually on the navigation; Zapdos Merch. And Articuno Merch has a 404 error in a box that has a scroll.. and a bunch of coding on the top and bottom of it.. There where also some pages that had a "This page cannot be displayed" kind of error on these pages; Past Layouts, Moltres Merch, and a few pages that aren't on the navigation. A few of those pages that weren't on the navigation where going to be; three of them are part of an Update Archive that is kind of similar to the one that SHH (Spat and Harmony Heartbreak) has and since those pages where updated recently, including the others that ended up having problems in three different ways. Though the help of the crappy staff, I got this Parse error that used to have the "This page cannot be displayed" error but that doesn't help since I don't know how that'll help since the pages on editing mode are like that as well.. and I also don't know what to do. I'm thinking that this might be a php error and I haven't used that format much so that's probably why I don't know what to do. Through the chaos Legendary Birds Merch survived o.o , though it could have been like that since I recently created that page and then worked on it so apparently this problem only happened with already existing pages that where updated. Though I did update it later on until I was done with it and made a back up of it just in case it ends up with a problem but.. that problem never happened :O Yep, this happened all because I wanted to make an update back in June (and it was going to feature a new layout :'( ).. like the other two previous updates; one that had an update for the Winter Solstice with a special image featuring Articuno and the other one had an update for the Spring Equinox with a special image featuring Moltres and I was going to do one for the Spring Solstice that was going to feature the last birdie; Zapdos. But I never got to because of those stupid errors!! T_T I was pissed and upset about it.. I've cooled down about it for many weeks now (probably before it was August). And the worst thing about those page problems is that they all have problems when I go to edit them! They are replaced by crappy problems and all of the work that I put into those pages seem to be GONE, they are not there at all O_O;.
But I'm not giving up and letting these problems go because I'm going to find some way to save them! I actually asked for help from a secret source ;) It'll take a while, not sure when but in the mean time I made a revived version of Past Layouts from the old host Webs and I'm going to do the same with the merchandise pages, even though that means that I'll have to do a lot of work but the old version of those pages is a good head start for making revived ones. Though the previous update entries that I talked about earlier are a Byehost only thing.. but I can revive most of the Update Archive pages except for the fact that the Winter Solstice one was going to be on the recent page :/ so I can't do that and the pages will have some differences as well. I'll try to update around this issue and I'll still go with the coming of the seasons thing, even though it'll be very late, it'll be there. Though this will take time. It's the first special thing that I did for LB and I'm just suppose to let it go and not want it back?? I don't think so!! Not long after hearing that I researched what looks like hacking and apparently those pages don't look like that and I used this site called Sucuri that can scan pages and show if they have a problem or not but.. none of them do o.o Though the used to be "cannot be displayed" pages had a 500 Internal Server error on them. So, this looks like a complete Byehost problem with no hacking involved (even though I can see why they think so..) or at least no malware involved that connects to hacking. And with the other replies that the staff gives me, doesn't work or I don't know what to do/I feel like I'm helping the problem if I did that.. well with the Parse error thing. I've been working on finding a solution for at least ONE page to get better but nothing is working.. at least without that secret source :3 Because of this big problem, I made back ups of all of LB's pages (the ones that haven't been affected). I also made back up pages on Melon's Island (though I still have more to do) and then I'll do the same with SHH (the site with the most pages x.x Well, that's all folks. |
