His life was at stake when he stumbled upon Central Park. He slowly drags himself with his flippers, unable to use his webbed feet to walk. It wasn't long before he collapses onto the green grass. When he opens his eyes he is greeted by a black and grey male penguin with dark red eyes who smiles at him. Zack begins to look at his surroundings, it's nothing like the park he collapsed at. The penguin calls himself Dyson and tells him that they are in his laboratory. He is confused by this penguin for the fact he doesn't know what a 'laboratory' is and then he tries getting up but he can't. Zack finds out that he is strapped onto something that looks like a bed and notices that his flippers and feet are trapped. He apologizes to him for the confusion but says that he was on the verge of dying and decided to restore him back to normal. Zack's eyes open wide in shock. He was on the verge of DEATH?!! Then Dyson said that he's fully restored and so he frees Zack's flippers and feet with the push of a button on the side of the bed, as the young penguin gets up. When he gets up though, he feels something heavy on his chest. When he looks down upon the problem he screams in shock. Where his poor aching heart used to be is a shiny green stone and when he touches it with his flipper, it feels warm.. like it's alive. Dyson grins at him and tells him that since his heart was in a very poor state, he replaced his heart with this emerald in order to restore him. Poor Zack shivers with fear at what this mysterious penguin did to him but he has to admit it, he does feel a lot better, he feels completely refreshed, his heart stopped aching, his right foot was no longer broken, and his body isn't badly bruised. Then Dyson decides to spit out some side effects to Zack's restored body; He told him that if he is ever angry about something, he would end up being more angry than he used to be and during the full moon he would end up turning into a bat penguin, a hybrid monster that has a big appetite for fish. He also tells him some important things; That he must protect the emerald that is sticking out of his chest in order to keep on living and that if the emerald ever breaks his life would end.. Zack blinks in shock for a minute or two and then Dyson tells him that he suffers the same fate as he does. He points a flipper to a ruby that sticks out of his chest just like Zack's emerald. He told him that he has the same side effects and must protect his ruby for it is the only thing that is keeping him alive. Zack questions on how he became that way. Dyson narrows his eyes at him and says that it was the humans who worked at a laboratory somewhere in New York. He used to be an ordinary penguin who was trapped in a laboratory and was used in many tests that ended up putting himself on the verge of death, that is until a human used an ordinary ruby and somehow made it act like a heart that helped him get back to normal but one that has bad side effects which flares up his anger and turns him into a bat penguin like monster. Those side effects where unknown to the human until Dyson's body transformed when the moon was full and attacked the humans in an act of trying to protect himself from the monster that he became and the fact that he was finally able to defend himself from the humans since he became stronger. He was no longer the naive penguin who let humans have their way with him.. Because of the certain tests that where used on him he became intelligent, being able to build inventions and able to build his laboratory. He became more angered because of his ruby, which made him stern and only had so much kindness, though most of it was gone but he still cares for other penguins.. right? Not really since he plans on secretly controlling all the penguins in the world in order to exact his revenge on the humans of New York since when he was still a test subject, he was involved with presentations where scientists would show a lot of people their creations which mostly included animals. These people that came where only amazed by how while the scientist tested him.. not how terrible his life was with going through all of those painful tests... But Zack doesn't know about Dyson's revenge and how he doesn't care about other penguins.
